Christmas has started!

What a very special day! Thank you to Jill Haslam for your lovely Sew Mondays hospitality this year! delicious food, and great company!

This evening Tina Hemmings and I went along to the fun and fabulous Christmas party at the new Paignton WI. There was an amazing magician, who not only wowed us with his tricks, but also helped us with the quiz! We enjoyed lovely company, we met Santa and Mrs Santa and had a great evening! Thank you very much to the hard working elves at Paignton WI!

Book Share Lunch

The Book Share group enjoyed a rather delicious lunch and most entertaining time together today at the Prince William pub. We discussed pretty much everything, including the book a little bit, the road closure, our Mums, the NHS, Dolly Parton’s boobs and some of us ended up with a cocktail! (Guess who chose the Pornstar?)

Thursday 8 December 2022

For those members who did not receive our December email!

(Incidentally, if you didn’t receive it, please will you let me know? Then I can try to work out why not! - most likely I have made an error in copying your email address from the contact list! )

Dear All

We’ve just finalised the arrangements for the Christmas meeting!   There are some things you need to know before you come to it.  It was great seeing so many members last month and look forward to seeing you all again.  We have a special entertainer lined up.  As a clue, it’s not a magician.

Firstly, the raffle this month will be special, so the cost of raffle tickets, just for this month, will be £1.  Once you see the prizes you may want more than 1 ticket, so be prepared.

Please wear a Christmas Jumper (if all else fails, wear red and pin on some tinsel or a Christmas decoration).

We’re inviting people to the committee meetings in the new year, some information about the committee will be on the tables.

There will be mulled wine or a soft drink available.  Please bring a suitable drinking vessel.  There will be mince pies rather than biscuits with a vegan and gluten free option available.

For those who are going on a theatre trip – please bring £12 for the panto (or pay by BACS ref panto)

For those going to the New Year Meal on 26th January who haven’t yet paid please bring £25 (or pay by BACS ref NY meal)

Remember to bring your entry for a garden flower competition.

Monday’s Walk

Nine of us caught the bus to Kingswear, the ferry to Dartmouth and enjoyed a great walk to the castle. Sadly the café was closed, but we managed to make it back to Alf Resco’s instead! What a lovely day with great company!

Sunday 27 November 2022

Dick Whittington!

Brixham WI goes to the panto! Oh yes they will!
Are you going? Please email Lynn (even if you put your name on the list at the last meeting, just to be sure) and organise your payment!

Dick Whittington at Paignton Palace Theatre on Sunday 8th January at 2.30pm.
Cost £12
Lynn needs to pay for the tickets before Christmas so if people can pay by BACS usual details with reference PANTO.
Before the next meeting.

Lynn will be able to take cheques and cash at the meeting if necessary

(Editor’s note: I realise that a golden corgi is not a pantomime cat, give me a break, it’s a great photo!)
