An article in The Times today about Tesco’s decision to remove the ‘best before’ dates on their fruit and veg highlights the WI’s successful campaign against food waste:
Tesco’s decision to move away from “best before” dates follows intense lobbying by the Women’s Institute. Polling by the group found that less than half of respondents understood the meaning of “best before” labels while more than 70 per cent understood “use by” dates.
As if we didn’t already know that our resolutions are worthwhile, here is proof! Stand up and be noticed!
