Lovely time
at Bookworms in the sun on Wednesday. Welcome to Gail who joined us. Lee child - A wanted man was enjoyed by half the group but a bit far fetched on the story! This month's book 'A thousand splendid suns'. We have space if anyone would like to join us. 2nd Wednesday of the month 11am.Book Share on Thursday, was very much depleted, so we put on a brave effort and had a rather splendid time!
Plenty of books were discussed and lots more besides! There are plans afoot to attend the Literary Festival at the Palace Theatre in Paignton with perhaps a spot of lunch as well. We are thinking possibly Thursday 17th March. Would any Book Worms or other WI readers care to join us?
What did we think of Hag Seed by Margaret Atwood? Two of us really loved it, two quite enjoyed and two didn‘t like it at all!
Some of us are intruiged to read more in the series of Shakespeare tales retold - see the list in the photo.
Other titles enjoyed this month:- Lesley Pearce: The House Across the Street
Ben Myers: The Perfect Golden Circle and The Offing
Deborah Moggach: Black Dress
Louise Penny: the Inspector Gamache series
Fern Britton
Coleen Hoover: It Ends With Us
James Patterson and Dolly Parton: Run Rose Run - audio version recommended
