April is approaching and some members are starting to think about whether or not they wish to join us again. Wondering ‘what have the WI given me for my money this year?’ ‘Why are they asking me to pay the full amount again for this year?’
Obviously, the NFWI and DFWI have regular financial commitments as they own property which has ongoing costs which haven’t ceased during the pandemic, as well as paid staff.
Maybe it is time to think about what you have done for the WI? It is your WI, and it is what you make of it. Here are the key messages, copied from My WI on thewi.org.uk.

The WI is everything you want it to be
Whatever your reason for joining, we offer all kinds of opportunities to all kinds of women.
For some it’s a chance to meet people and catch up with friends. For others it’s a way to learn new skills and campaign on issues that affect the wider community.
The WI is what you make of it
WIs come in all shapes and sizes and our members can be involved in the way that suits them.
This can mean joining a local WI or setting up a new group with other like-minded women. Others may prefer to be Associate members with the opportunity for local WI involvement.
