Final zoom of 2020!

It was lovely to see everyone. I have a dreadful feeling that I may have forgotten to invite some people....if so, I am very sorry! I shall try much harder in 2021!

Jayne Stone did a brilliant quiz for us!

The Taxi Driver Poet...

....came to our zoom meeting today! We had a thoroughly entertaining and engaging afternoon - very thought provoking and causing us to recall lots of the poems we had read and learned in childhood. I was especially interested to hear a poem about the clouds in Wordsworth’s poem. I shall have to look that up!

James has Instagram and a Facebook page: just look for the Taxi Driver Poet. He publishes a poem a day! Here is one he wrote for a WI he spoke to:

And here we all are!

Are you a bit perplexed about making your Christmas bauble!

                       Before......

Using the triangle shape, fold all of the circles

Take 5 of the circles and apply glue to one of the folded edges. Stick them together to form the top of the bauble.

Remember to glue the ribbon on the inside at the top.

Now take 10 circles and glue them together as you see in the photo below

Glue the top five flaps to the bottom of the bauble.

Make the bottom section in the same way as the top.

Enjoy listening to the radio?

Here is something to bring you cheer! Do you ever listen to BBC Sounds? The radio iplayer? If no, check it out! There are some fantastic programmes to listen to! This one, in the photo, is my absolutely favourite podcast at the moment! It is just like having a chat with a couple of friends, and often has me laughing out loud! #highlyrecommended!

Thank you!

Six years ago today we moved to Brixham! I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Brixham WI for giving me such a warm and friendly welcome. Especially Elly, Barbara L, Mary C, Annie, Sandy and Marilyn.

My first meeting was the December meeting where  ‘Christmas party larks’ was performed. Look in the left column of your screen and click on those words!

Then, at January’s meeting I saw the marvellous “Knitted Brixham”. How could anyone not want to join the folk who could create such a display?

Thank you to you all for a fun filled  six years!

Yesterday’s zoom

We had an excellent quiz from Carol and a lot of laughter! It was great to see a new face, too! Jayne was able to pop in for a while, so it was good to see her. It is great to see Julie H, joining every time too! Well done everyone! Barbara has set us a challenge for next week: to produce some Christmas biscuits! Tina is doing the quiz, and Jane M volunteered to do the next quiz!
