2021

What a year it has been! Full of laughter and fun, judging by the photos!

Sad news.

Just before Christmas one of our members sadly passed away, Margaret Rousell. Margaret moved here to join her daughter, Jayne Stone. We send Jayne and Mike our sympathy and love.

Margaret joined Brixham WI as a dual member.   She had been a WI member for many years, retaining membership of Boxlea WI, where she was a founder member and  first President in 1972.

In addition to holding officer positions at Boxlea, Margaret was a Board member of Wilts County (now Wiltshire Federation) and for many years treasurer there.

Margaret was a resourceful lady whose determination ensured she achieved anything she set her mind to.  She loved living in Brixham and, when told her days were limited, just said she wasn’t ready to go, she was living in Brixham to have fun.

Our Christmas Party 2021

Well it was a time to say thank you to so many of our members who have gone out of their way to offer help, support and encouragement through what has been a very difficult year for many. Kind words and encouragement go a very long way, and are always very much appreciated by everyone! Isn’t it a treat to be among such a caring group of women?

Sue Curnow Yates enabled us (with much patience!) to create some very cute table decorations and Barbara L and her elves made us all a delightful tea light in the form of a house. She brought them into the room all lit up and it was really magical. Julie H read a beautiful Christmas poem she had written, and Virginia gave us a very topical and amusing thought for the month. Mary C and Barbara organised our very pretty table decorations, which were then raffled! Thank you, we all enjoyed the efforts of your labours. We found the quiz rather tricky…although one table did extremely well and each won a chocolate Santa!

Merry Christmas!
