Somerset Federation is taking action!

WI – Women and Climate Change Campaign
Silver teapots and WI cake. Frocks and best hats. What could possibly go wrong?
Somerset Federation of WI’s Public Affairs team organised a Tea in the Sea tea-party to draw attention to Rising Sea Levels on the Somerset coast.
As a member of the Climate Coalition the WI has been campaigning for greater awareness of Climate Change since 2009.
If sea levels continue to rise at the current rate, in the next 20 years many Somerset homes will be uninhabitable due to flooding.
Are you and your family making changes to your lifestyles to help combat global warming?
As the tide came in, as the photos show, the stalwart WI ladies braved the waves still clutching their bone china cups!

On Dunster beach.
Here are some inspiring women - having some fun and making a good point.

More Fashion Show photos flooding in!

Ahhh! You really should have been there!

1940s Fashion Show was Sensational!

Shoalstone Pool provided an amazing backdrop for the ladies and gents who had clearly gone to a great deal of effort, attention to detail and time to appear in their lovely 1940s outfits. Thank you all, you put on an excellent show for us. There were plenty of WI members as well as others to make the show go with a swing, ending up with some dancing by the poolside.
Thank you to everyone involved!
