Institute meeting today

Our speaker, John Walters gave us an enthralling talk and film/ still images show about our local wildlife. His photography and sketches were marvellous!  http://johnwalters.co.uk/ Take a look at his website to see some of the fabulous images he showed us.

No photos today as I forgot my phone, along with various other items! Talking of phones and mentioning no names….please can we all try to remember to put our phones on silent or in Airplane mode during the meeting? Thank you!

The flowers in the competition were especially wonderful and we sang Happy Birthday to Julie Harris for her special birthday this month.

Another lovely meeting with fab Brixham WI members!

Darts Afternoon

We had a lot of fun, thanks to organisers Jacqui and Annette! Thank you also to everyone who came and enjoyed themselves!

There are a few folk amongst us who can actually play the game, hitting the board where they intend. Fewer still are those able to stand up by the board,  work out and write down the scores as we go along. Most of us were not even able to remember who went in front of us, so we would know when it was our turn! One person hit a bullseye! Jus’ sayin’!

Should be a laugh!! Lynn suggests we get there "all dolled up" (sorry) between 6.30 and 6.45 for a bit of a fun before the film.
Friday: 10.30 coffee at the Berry Head Hotel - the perfect way to start the weekend!

Book Share

 Report from Jayne:

So many books, so little time. We read A House for Mr Biswas, enjoyed by some, not so much by others Uplifting/fun books read include ThevFunny Thing about Norman Foreman, The Love Letter, The Bucket List, Lil’s bustrip, The Old Duck’s Hen Do.

Highly
recommended were Shrines of Gaity, Vinegar Girl, WHIT, The Gap of Time and the Japanese Lover.

Book Worms

Bookworms met yesterday to discuss our recent book 5”The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. We all very much enjoyed this well written book giving it 10/10. We found it gripping and a puzzle to put together. We found out there is a film version and I’m hoping to watch it!
Other things recommended the Marlow M****ders Club.
Next meeting will be on Friday 12th April at Berry head hotel as lots of us can’t make the Wednesday.
Thank you, Rebecca. There are spaces in the Book Worm group, which meets usually on the second Wednesday of the month at 11 am.
