Rose Acre Lane. Isn’t this great!
What have you done to help look after Brixham and #ShowTheLove for our environment?
This tutor is the one who was on the BBC Craft programme recently! I can recommend taking this zoom course!
TORBAY COUNCIL - NEWS RELEASE
We had an entertaining meeting today at Zoom, with a great quiz from Sparks. Some people got almost all the questions right.
We had a great meeting today, 20 people came along and we taxed our brains with Tina’s quiz! Thank you! Thank you also to all the people who told a story! Very interesting and entertaining!
We have decided to write to Brixham Town council and the Countryside Trust to ask them to put a dog waste bin - or bins - along the footpath from Gillard and Centry Road towards Berry Head. We will write as individuals and as Brixham WI. Also send the green heart postcards to our MP to alert him to the issue as well.
Great work, Ann P for making some felt greenhearts to display around the footpaths and town! Fab! Let’s do more of it!
Maybe take the day off today? (That wind is icy!)
.....do you have any photos to share?
Here are two metre square quilts I made to send to NHAP, a charity which sends hand made items to hospitals, care homes, nurseries, homeless centres.
Here is a tweet from Craftivists, which follow neatly from the television programme last week, Craftivism.
I thought it would be a simple thing to pick up litter whilst taking my dog on loan for a walk! No! He did not want to stop where the litter was....everywhere else but there! Clearly a dog of good taste! Anyway, I managed to fill a carrier bag from Lower Rea Road, Centry, Gillard and just by the Rugby Club. Missed lots, so will go round again! #showthelove

Our February working together but apart first project has begun! Barbara Lawrence had the idea of us picking up litter, and Tina Hemmings has started! Woo hoo! One whole bag full from half of the lane between Windmill Close and Rose Acre.
February is the month when the WI supports the #ShowtheLove campaign which highlights the need for us to look after our environment. Green hearts are made and shared to encourage people to be more aware and take more care of where they live and the places they love.
We had another fab zoom today! It was great to see Yvonne Deane, who has only just learned how to zoom - she did get it all working, even though not in this picture! Thank you to Jayne Stone and her Mum Margaret for their taxing but excellent quiz! Next week is going to be a ‘Would I lie to you?’ session! start preparing your stories! Tina Hemmings has kindly offered to do a quiz, too.
Can I heartily recommend you to watch Craftivism on BBC 4, presented by Jenny Eclair? https://www.bbc.co.uk/.../craftivism-making-a-difference
Hold on to your hats! Would you look at the results of our working together but apart project! This just in from Wendy Mackenzie
This is for all of the folk who are missing out on the fun and the warm community that is FaceBook!
