Wine Tasting Evening.

 We had a cracking evening with George and Tina giving us a great wine tasting experience! Lots of information and advice - and a lot of fun and laughs!Thank you Both for a great time!

 We have a space - does anyone fancy an evening full of fun, wine, cheese and excellent chat! Please inform Tina immediately! You needn’t miss out after all! (We could probably organise a lift for you, as well!)

Committee Meeting update:

 Ugly scenes at our committee meeting on Monday afternoon! Carnage amongst the cakes! Slaughter around the sausage roll selection! Oh my, they were delicious! Last month there was a delectable (and huge!) chocolate cake alongside a scrummy carrot cake. Next year’s first committee meeting will be at my house with a cup of tea only!

(only kidding! We know how to do committee things right!)

For the remainder of our time, we made fun, festive and fabulous plans for our Christmas party! And for one or two other things as well!

Good Morning to all of our Brixham WI members! What is in store for us this week?

Monday: The walking group will meet at the 12 bus stop at 9.30. We are having a walk around Cockington and probably have to visit the Drum Inn for lunch.

Wednesday: Wine Tasting, run for us by a Local Expert. We have one space if any of our members would like to join us?

Friday: 10.30 coffee at the Berry Head hotel.

Overjoyed to announce we will be Caroling, Strumming and stamping along to some Christmas Music at Brixham Library on the 14th of Dec! Its free to attend and refreshments will be available! Why not come down and say hello!

 The film at Brixham theatre on Wednesday was a really great night out! The Barbie film is coming up in March! Sort out your pink gear again! There are loads of good things coming to the theatre for our entertainment! Fab! Thank you Lynn Asher for organising us!

We spent a delightful morning at the Berry Head Hotel, enjoying excellent company and a lovely cup of coffee!

 What a completely fabulous Dabble Morning! Thank you to everyone for coming along and for making it such a fun, sociable time! Great results, well worth doing! Other photos were taken, these are most of the end results!

What does this week have in store for our Brixham WI members? Plenty! Just a little warning for the faint hearted….It is beginning this week! 🧑🏻‍🎄🧑🏻‍🎄

Monday: A message from Sue Martin: “We have a long trek planned for Monday, instead of a walk we are going to the Exeter xmas market. We are as usual catching the 9.30 12 bus and catching the train at Paignton to Exeter. Suitable footwear is advised.” All welcome to join in - just turn up!

Wednesday: 10 until 1: lots of fun workshops at our Dabble morning! (Contact Sparks Beattie)

7pm for 7.30 film night at Brixham theatre (Lynn Asher)

Friday: coffee at the Berry Head Hotel. Just turn up.

Saturday: theatre visit to see “The Rhythm of the Dance”.

 What a fabulous week it has been, hasn’t it, Brixham WI members? Lots of us meeting together, despite the weather, enjoying the company and rapport.

There were about 20 entries for our ‘Yesterday’ exhibition - each one worthy of winning! Next year we must work out a better way to display them. So much thought was put into them all!

Friday’s coffee at the Berry Head involved people moving furniture for us, to make room for us all!

Institute Meeting today

Our Margaret Seaward Exhibition on the theme of ‘Yesterday’ was a great success! There were some very creative, thoughtful and fabulous entries. wow! Each member had three votes to give, the winners being Ann P for her VE Day picnic basket (and her stunning outfit) and Jane M and Jan W who were dressed as 1920s flappers. They looked amazing!

Skittles!

 Thank you to Jacqui H and Annette for organising a super skittles afternoon! We had a great time, and a very close run match! Ann Brindley Parker must surely take the Woman of the Match award for her skill and accuracy during the game of killer!

 The monthly coffee morning was small yet perfectly formed today! We had a really great morning, so lovely to see you all! Let’s do it again next month!

Don’t forget our Margaret Seaward Exhibition at our next Institute meeting! We are looking for a lot of entries! The theme is ‘Yesterday’ and you can make Your contribution in any format you choose: craft, needlework, modelling (clay or human!), flower arrangement, photo, a tableau, painting, dance, a poem, cake…. As long as you have created it for this exhibition and it fits the theme, we will love it!

 It’s Sunday, it’s a beautiful calm and sunny morning and it’s time for our weekly ’What’s on?’ for our inspiring Brixham WI members!

Monday walkers: if the weather's ok, will be walking in Dartmouth. Catching the 18 Kingswear bus at 9.35 (hopefully) in Brixham. Opposite the taxi rank. Just turn up!
