Sunflowers!

Look at this beauty! Wendy C says it is around 8 feet  tall! I can see a smile in that face,

Probably because this photo was taken after those very strong winds!

How are your sunflowers?

This is from Mary W’s garden! A very grand 6 feet!

Here is Jill D’s - all of 7 feet tall!

Yvonne D has grown hers to a whopping 8 feet!

Lots of fun at crazy golf today! Thank you Pat, Carol, Karl Lawrence, Sue Martin, Sue England, Yvonne Deane and Tina Hemmings for your lovely company! Three of us had a hole in one! Special prizes! Should we have a “Brixham WI on Tour Sports Cup”? Sue M held it after Cayman Golf, and has passed it on to me after the crazy golf!

More fun activities in September!

Just a thought…..

If you are planning to play crazy golf tomorrow at Goodrington Park, Sue Martin has offered some excellent advice!

Park in the large carpark which is first on the right once you have turned off the main road by the Torbay Laeisure Centre traffic lights. The small carpark nearest to the crazy golf is very likely to be full!

Important information!

Just in case any of Brixham WI members haven’t read or received a ‘surprise’ email from me…. We have altered our meeting date to 29th instead of the 22nd. Same venue. If you haven't already done so, please will you let me know whether or not you can come.

Also! Important information! We now have 56 members! At our Annual Meeting last April we agreed to put a cap on our numbers at 60! So, we have only 4 member spaces available!

These are a few of my favourite things…

This is the theme for our November exhibition! Please make a big effort to create your entry to the Margaret Seaward Cup - it can be anything you choose to represent:

“These are a few of my favourite things”

It must be created  for this exhibition, and could be a poem, photo, display on a tray, painting, sculpture, a lucky find from the beach, a cake, any craft, needlework, knitting or crochet, mime, a video…..the world is your oyster here! We draw the line at anything living, so, no grandchildren or pets!

How do we choose who takes home the Cup? We put an envelope by each exhibit and everyone can put a coin in whichever envelopes they choose. The highest number of coins in an envelope is how the winner is chosen  - and the coins are donated to ACWW, the charity supported by the WI. (Associated Country Women of the World)

Let us make this a fantastic exhibition!
