It was a fun filled and varied meeting today! Our drama group (aka the committee!) put on a sunshine summer performance to much laughter! Then we moved on to a tea and cake break (thank you very much for all of the delightful and delicious cakes), followed swiftly by our Annual Meeting. Tina presented a very good round up of our previous year’s activities! What a lot we fitted in! The accounts were approved and Mary thanked everyone for all of their contributions to the smooth running of Brixham WI. Several members of the committee stood down, and Sparks was voted as the next President. Mary was thanked for the excellent way she has lead Brixham WI. Lorna read a lovely poem about WI presidents, and Mo gave a touching thought for the month. We voted pretty much unanimously to support both resolutions.
We welcomed two new members, bringing our total membership to 48!
The president’s flowers were delivered to Margaret T who is very unwell at the moment.
