We held our final old style Book Share this afternoon with a lovely coffee/cold drink at the Golf Club.
Ironically, we all really enjoyed the final book offered to us from our library subscription! We enjoyed a good discussion about the characters and the plot - in much greater depth than any other post book discussion I can recall! Many thanks to Jayne for organising it all, as well as doing the majority of the heavy lifting involved.
Books recommended for members to read this month are: Amor Towles’ ‘A Gentleman in Moscow’, Tracey Chevalier’s The Glass Maker and Kate Moreton’s The Forgotten Garden. One suggestion which was not taken up by anyone was about a dog in wartime - we decided it would be a ‘weepy’ and no-one could face it!
Next month, Thursday 7th May, we will discuss some or all of these titles.
